PANEL: Is the Living Stage Any Place for Science Fiction/Fantasy?
8:00 PM Cascade 10
Question: The Living Stage – i.e. The Legitimate Theatre – is
home to Shakespeare, Absurdist, Greek Chorus and ‘Our
Town’ at your local high school, but can it hold a candle (or
a light saber) to film/video for special effects and the essence
of what makes a SciFi hit a hit?
Answer: Is that what you are after?
More in-depth Answer: IF you are after the opening of Star
Wars in your little theatre, it’s going to be hard (but could be
done with Puppets!) IF you are after getting people involved
in an alternative universe, the passions and conflicts of
Humanity facing other-worldly forces or simply of Strange
People in Strange Lands, welcome to the Living Stage.
As for traditional SciFi subjects, yes, even they are addressed. Here are some
resources you may find of interest.
